Mayor Chen brings New Business to Kaohsiung from Japan

陳市長與代表團拜訪Junten公司,該公司近期內將至高雄覓地設廠。Mayor Chen and delegation visit Junten Professional Decoration Engineering Co. Ltd. The Corporation will soon be opening a plant in Kaohsiung. In early September, Mayor Chen Chu led a thirteen person delegation to Japan. The aim was to entice businesses to come and invest in Kaohsiung. The delegation included Deputy Mayor Yung-Te Lee, Director General of Economic Affairs Bureau, Sin-JhengLiu and Director General of Urban Development Bureau Yei-Long Wu. The delegation met with several leading Japanese companies and felt the visit was definitely profitable. One of these companies included Junten Professional Decoration Engineering Co. Ltd, a semiconductor, clean room business. This visit resulted in the signing of an agreement with Kaohsiung City and the company.

 Various industries, were visited during the trip. These companies included digital technology companies, product integration, e-commerce, logistics, clean room facilities and culture and artistic promotional services. The companies visited included SCE (Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.), Namco Bandai Games, Sony Felica, Fujitsu BSC, Rakuten Inc., Mitsui Soko Co. Ltd., Junten Professional Decoration Engineering Co. Ltd, and the Japan Nailist Association.

 During the visit to the digital technologies company, Namco Bandai, Mayor Chen mentioned Kaohsiung has an extensive talent pool of educated university graduates and urged Namco Bandai to allocate part of their software development investment to Kaohsiung. She stated the Kaohsiung City Government could facilitate a collaboration between Namco Bandai and local businesses. Her aim is to introduce therapeutic video games for the elderly. Namco Bandai representatives also stated there was a strong possibility for them to invest in Kaohsiung.

 While meeting with SCE (Sony Computer Entertainment Inc), Mayor Chen indicated that each year there are plenty of talented university graduates from Kaohsiung that would be tremendous resources for the digital technologies business. The company could colaborate in the construction of the Poular Music Center and the National Wei-Wu-Ying Theater. If SEC could establish a cooperation with businesses in Kaohsiung, it would be very beneficial for both parties. SCE President, Tetsuhiko Yasuda promised he would send an exploratory delegation by the end of the year. He also promised to invest in the development of businesses in Southern Taiwan and assist in further educating Kaohsiung's young talent.

 Mayor Chen also had an opportunity to talk with Rakuten Inc. They discussed assisting value-added industries in Taiwan and the promotion of an international cooperation in selling local products and artworks in the global market. Rakuten Inc. is now assisting the City Government to establish specialty stores from Kaohsiung.

 Kaohsiung City Government has also signed an agreement with Junten Professional Decoration Engineering Co. Ltd. Junten will come to Kaohsiung in the near future with the prospect of setting up a new plant. Junten produces partition boards for clean rooms and Kaohsiung was convinced it is the perfect place to invest as its the center of the metal industry and a hub for air and sea transportation.

 Mayor Chen emphasized Kaohsiung's advantages, such as convenient transportation, well-developed industrial parks, inexpensive living and sufficient   educated and talented human resources. Kaohsiung is definitely a beneficial place to develop digital technologies, e-commerce and logistics industries. The Kaohsiung MRT, is also a recent addion to the convenience of the transportation networks. Mayor Chen also emphasized that Foxconn Technology Group's decision to open new a new plant in Kaohsiung is a great endorsement and will enhance Kaohsiung's buisness environment. She hopes her trip to Japan will result in leading Japanese companies to come and invest in Kaohsiung in the future.

 高雄市長陳菊率副市長李永得、建設局長劉馨正及都發局長吳義隆等一行十三人,九月上旬前往日本招商成果豐碩,共拜會了多家日本國際性領導廠商;其中生產半導體週邊設備無塵室裝置的JUNTEN公司已簽訂投資合作意向書。
 陳菊市長日本招商之行,拜會廠商包含數位內容、系統商品整合、電子商務、物流、無塵室裝置及文化創意等不同類型廠商,造訪新力電腦娛樂SCE、NAMCO BANDAI GAMES、Sony Felica、共信半導體及富士通集團Fujitsu BSC 、樂天株式會社、三井物流、JUNTEN及日本美甲師協會。

 陳市長於拜訪數位內容產業NAMCO BANDAI公司時表示:高雄有豐厚的人才資源,希望NAMCO BANDAI能將軟體開發部分在高雄投資,市府將極力促成NAMCO BANDAI與高雄業者合作機會,洽談有關復健型遊戲機發展老人照護產業可引進的部份。NAMCO BANDAI的代表承諾,將積極評估投資高雄的方向。

 陳市長拜會新力電腦娛樂SCE時表示,高雄地區大專院校每年都有充足的人力產生,未來無論是流行音樂中心或衛武營國家劇院,都需要數位內容相關人才,SCE若建立起與高雄合作模式,當有更好的發展。安田哲彥總經理回應表示,今年底將派員至高雄考察,承諾將發展台灣南部區塊,投注心力於人才育成。

高雄有規劃完善的產業園區等許多投資優點,無論發展數位內容、電子商務及物流產業,都有相當的競爭優勢。Kaohsiung has well-developed industrial parks and a beneficial place to develop digital technologies, e-commerce and logistics industries. 陳市長與樂天株式會社商談,如何與台灣高附加價值產業共同推動國際合作機會,結合地方特色產品與藝術品打入國際市場;樂天目前正協助高雄市政府,輔導高雄地區特色商家及產品建立特色,評估於高雄設置國際物流中心。

 高雄市政府已於九月十二日與Junten 公司簽署投資合作意向書,對方近期內將至高雄覓地設廠,Junten主要經營無塵室隔間庫板事業,高雄地區為材料及金屬工業中心並居海空運輸要道,是吸引Junten至高雄投資的主因。

 陳菊市長表示,高雄擁有得天獨厚的地理條件、四通八達的交通、規劃完善的產業園區、物美價廉的生活消費以及充沛專業的人力資源,無論發展數位內容、電子商務及物流產業,都有相當的競爭優勢。尤其在捷運紅橘線相繼通車後連結高鐵串成便利路網,將提供市民更方便的生活及提升高雄流行趨勢與都市新風貌。陳菊市長進一步說,知名大企業鴻海宣布進駐高雄,也是看準了高雄的潛力,希望此行能促成日商國際大廠瞭解高雄,進而投資高雄。
