Kaohsiung Municipal Film Archives, housing over 3,000 national and international famous movies, is the first and only base for movie culture in the south of Taiwan. There are audio-visual facilities and outdoor movie theaters to entertain visitors from everywhere. Since it was opened in November 2002, there have been over 200,000 visitors to the relatively small building, which means that it is the only public exhibition hall where the capacity requires strict control!
Further north, Kaohsiung Museum of History was rebuit from the former Kaohsiung City Government Building. With the simple elegance of the location, the museum has become one of the landmarks of Kaohsiung City. This historic building contains the eastern culture of extolling temple with cornice roofs, and decoration from the western old fashion part.
The Music Hall, offering the moving concerts, such as symphony, jazz and Chinese opera, is next to it, provides different music for everyone.

愛河近幾年的變化，彷彿是一則醜小鴨變天鵝的現代版童話故事。走一趟愛河，即可看到高雄市這幾年整治河川、營造城市美學及串聯藝文節點的努力與成果。所以來到高雄市，如果沒有到愛河畔尋幽探訪一番，如同到法國沒有一遊塞納河般遺憾。
愛河是浪漫的，不論走在東岸，亦或是西岸。愛河也是美麗的，不論是白天，亦或是夜晚。經過市府分期分區改造，愛河沿岸景觀如同變魔術一般的改頭換面，從五福路的高雄橋到建國橋，短短不到二公里，展現著豐富多元的河岸風情。
您可以漫步木棧道，望著兩岸高聳的建築物隨著波光粼粼而逐波搖盪的倒影，也可以在親水平台上駐足，享受港都獨有的海風，或是在親水台階上隨地而坐，只是瞑想，靜靜地與四周的樹聲鳥語共鳴。
愛河重新粉妝玉琢的展現魅力，左岸和右岸的對話也由幾座橋樑的「光雕」而大放異彩，從五福橋、中正橋、七賢橋到建國橋，夜裡都有不同主題形式的照明景觀，讓高雄的「夜地圖」以愛河為主軸，顯得更為多彩多姿、變化多端。
愛河也是充滿文化氛圍的，沿岸錯落著的電影圖書館、歷史博物館、音樂館、仁愛公園與籌畫中的漫畫圖書館相互呼應，小型博物館群儼然成形。
已收藏三千多部國內外知名影片的電影圖書館，是南台灣第一個專屬電影文化藝術的基地，基地固然迷你，卻相當迷人，有個人視聽設備，也有露天電影院，讓您可以獨樂樂，也可以與眾同樂，自二○○二年十一月開館以來，參觀人次已突破廿餘萬，是唯一要做流量管制的公立展館。
再往北一點，由舊高雄市政府改建的歷史博物館，帝冠式建築兼具城市地標及歷史意義，建築風格充滿歌頌神社的色彩，內外裝飾著西方復古式的紋樣，又具有東方飛簷屋頂，呈現東西融合的特有風格。
緊鄰的音樂館戶外廣場，則是不定期的飄揚著鼓動人心的交響樂、輕快愉悅的爵士，甚或是在地藝術─歌仔戲，提供不同的音樂饗宴。
