Specialties by Su Fu-nan：Guava and Juiube/名物特產 芭樂＆棗子
Guava and jujube are two major special products in Yenchao rural township, Kaohsiung County. The guava season runs throughout the whole year, while the jujube season runs from December to February. The Yenchao Farmers' Association has built a well-equipped fruit marketplace to be used as a venue for fruit farmers and dealers to trade. Also, the special products center of the association has become a popular stopover among visitors, with a never-ending stream of visitors daily.
With the efforts of Yuanchiao Humanities Association and Yenchao Farmers' Association over recent years, the township has also been known for new special products such as guava popsicles and guava cakes. For example, Yunghsiang Bakery near Weiling Temple specializes in making guava cakes. And the Miaohsing Food Factory next to Yenchao Elementary School turns local fruits into great candied fruits that always win two thumbs-up from gourmets.
芭樂、棗子為燕巢鄉兩大特產，每年12月至２月為棗子盛產期，芭樂則全年皆有出產，燕巢鄉農會在旗楠公路和186縣道交叉口，興建一座現代化青果市場，由於青果品質優良，設備現代化，每天吸引各方農民和盤商進駐交易，農會附設的特產中心，更成為遊覽車的休息站，每天遊客門庭若市。
近年來，在當地文史團體「援剿人文協會」和燕巢農會的推動下，另發展出芭樂冰棒和芭樂蛋糕新特產，位於威靈寺附近的永祥麵包店，是芭樂蛋糕的專門店，燕巢國小旁巷子的妙星食品廠，以燕巢優質的棗子、芭樂等水果製成的蜜餞，也讓老饕讚不絕口。
