ur round Kaohsiung: Du-du scenic train /乘著嘟嘟火車遊高雄
After launching for celebrating the Lantern Festival since three years ago, the Du-du scenic train is now available as a regular route. The five services a day start from 11:00, continuing at 12:30, 15:00, 18:30 and 20:00. Three of them serve meals while the other two provide snacks. Tickets are available at Kaohsiung Train Station; the price includes food, which are NT$250 (for meals) and NT$180 (for snacks) individually.
The most noticeable trait of Du-du scenic train is its route: the only round-city railway you can find in Taiwan. Being 27 kilometers in length, Du-du train starts from Kaohsiung Train Station and has several significant stops which are: Kaohsiung harbor, the Pier 2 Art District, bank of Love River, Ling-ya-liao Station, the 85_story skyscraper, Tai-sugar Kaohsiung Logistics Park, Hsin-kuang Station, Chien-jen Station, Kai-Hsuan Road, and then back to Kaohsiung Train Station. You can fully appreciate all these historic and cultural spots by taking Du-du train. The whole trip takes 90 minutes.
With personal VCD players and stereo systems, the coach is luxuriously decorated. Each coach has a large LCD screen, which shows 3D animation of Kaohsiung's recent construction. Moreover, not only the interior decoration but also the outer look is very different from other ordinary coaches. All are designed by the standard of recreational restaurants.
The wharf of Blue Highway is exactly by the side of Hsin-kuang Station. In the near future, ferries to Kenting will be available here, which strengthens Kaohsiung's role as a harbor of sightseeing. Please take advantage of the fantastic Du-du train to impress yourself with a brand-new Kaohsiung!
過去三年只有在高雄燈會期間才有的「嘟嘟火車」，現在每天都可以坐到了，市府與鐵路局合作，自三月二日開始正式營運，每日開行五個班次，包括正餐列車11:00、12:30、18:30三班；點心列車15:00、20:00二班，車票在高雄站服務台發售，票價包含餐飲費在內，分為正餐列車250元，點心時間列車180元。
嘟嘟火車的特點在於它是台灣唯一留存的市區環狀鐵路，全長27公里，初期停靠高雄站及新光站，起點從高雄火車站出發，沿途行經高雄站、駁二藝術特區、愛河河畔、苓雅寮車站、八十五層大樓、台糖物流園區、新光站、前鎮車站、凱旋路、再回到高雄火車站，繞行一圈需時90分鐘，這些富有高雄在地文化、人文特質、古今建築藝術交錯的景點，唯有乘坐嘟嘟火車才能真情體驗。車上設備高級豪華，每個坐位都有個人化VCD播放設備及車上音響，車廂內也有大型平面電視播放市政建設的三Ｄ畫面。車廂的內裝與外觀都與一般火車車廂不同，都是比照休閒餐廳的裝潢，非常特別。
嘟嘟火車停靠的新光站旁邊就是藍色公路的碼頭，未來並計劃由此可搭船直達墾丁，使高雄港更具觀光港的功能。有機會不妨坐坐嘟嘟火車，來感受全新、美化的車廂，以及品嚐車上的美食，享受不一樣的港都城市之旅。
