Catch a glimpse of Lukai Cultures/探訪魯凱文化
Tona Village, dotted with slabstone houses and sculptures, is a settlement where cultures of indigenous Lukai Tribe are preserved in pristine condition, thus the most coveted location for a good look at Lukai culture. In an effort to preserve the tribe's heritage, some slab houses are being rebuilt, while young tribespeople run cultural studios to exhibit traditional artifacts. Meanwhile, "Slab BBQ of Mountain Boar" has become a local specialty that attracts a great many tourists.
Tona Village lies in Maolin Scenic Area. Tickets are needed for entrance, NT$70 for adults, and NT$40 for children. The area is conveniently located in terms of accommodations. 多納村是魯凱族文化保留最完整的部落，石板屋、石板雕刻隨處可見，是探訪魯凱文化最佳地點，目前部分石板屋正在重建，留在部落的年輕族人也嘗試開設工作坊，展現魯凱祖先遺留下來的傳統工藝文化資產，而「石板烤山豬肉」更成為招徠遊客的地方特色小吃。
