Kaohsiung City Trade Mission to Europe sings NT$50 billion investment agreements 歐洲招商 成績亮麗 高雄市歐洲招商訪問團完成簽訂五百億元投資協議
The first trade mission to Europe led by Mayor Hsieh was a great success, bringing back NT$50 billion investment agreements signed with European enterprises. Thexe agreements serve as great incentives to the public construction projects to be launched in the city.
Lad by Mayor Hsieh, the mission delegation visited Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Paris and Berlin in September and signed a total of 6 investment agreements worth NT$50 billion, which exceeds the mission's expected goal by NT$20 billion.
Leading the trade mission to solicit business, the Mayor signed a NT$30 billion and a NT$6 billion letter of intent on investment with Siemens and Carrefour respectively. He signed another letter of intent with Vivendi Water on investment in constructing sewage systems and providing quality drinking water to Kaohsiung City. Mayor Hsieh also formed a strategic alliance with Alstom for implementing a light-rail rapid transit system in the city. In addition, Aviastar Asia Corporation on the trade mission signed a NT$14 billion letter of intent on cooperation with the German airship manufacturer, CargoLifter, brining the worth of all agreements singed on this mission to NT$50 billion.
In his tight schedule, Mayor Hsieh visited the operations at Port of Rotterdam and went aboard a sightseeing boat touring canals in Amsterdam city center and Seine in Paris. Impressed by the friendly sightseeing facilities of these river cities, Mayor Hsieh said immediately that the Kaohsiung City Government would purchase two glass boats to sail on Love River on next year's Lantern Festival.
Returning home from Eruope, Mayor Hsieh said if Taiwan is to becom a global logistics center, it must align with international community. He added that we must have confidence in Taiwan because many multinaitonals in fact still think highly of Taiwan.
高雄市首次前進歐洲招商成果亮麗，500億元的投資協議，將與陸續開展的多項重大建設接軌，為都市建設增添利多消息。
在謝市長大力支持下，由「高雄多功能經貿園區發展促進會」籌劃的歐洲招商行程，歷經半年規劃，九月初首次前進歐洲，果然成績令人滿意。訪問團一行在歐洲四個城市，包括荷蘭阿姆斯特丹、鹿特丹、法國巴黎以及德國柏林，共計簽訂六項投資協議，投資金額高達500億元，比原訂目標300億足足多出200億元。
謝市長率團「出國拼經濟」，分別和西門子及家樂福簽訂投資意向書，投資金額分別為300億元及60億元；和威望迪水務公司簽訂投資意向書，提出本市污水下水道及優質飲用水計畫。又和著名的阿爾期通形成策略聯盟，推動規劃高雄市輕軌捷運。此外，隨行的中俄宇航公司則和研發及製造飛商船的CargoLifter公司以及中法航空公司簽訂合作意向書，合作投資金額約140億元。投資金額總計高達500億元。
在緊湊的招商行程中，謝市長一行還參觀了鹿特丹港的港埠設施，並搭乘觀光遊艇遊覽阿姆斯特丹市中心運河以及巴黎塞納河，感受水岸城市親水的觀光設施，謝市長當下表示，市府將購買兩艘透明船身的觀光遊艇，明年元宵節將在愛河與市民見面。
謝市長認為，台灣想要成為全球運籌中心，一定要與國際接軌。市府此次赴歐招商有很大的感觸：外國企業其實對台灣仍有期待，對台灣的評價還是很高。他強調，台灣對自己一定要有信心。此行隨行成員包括市府首長、中小企業以及國營事業負責人等卅一人，一個星期的朝夕相處，彼此針對「如何讓高雄經濟起飛」交換意見，這是招商之餘最難得的收穫，而民間與官方密切合作，也是此次訪問團的特色。
