A Happy Trip to a Friendly City /

Paul and his friend, Eric, came to Taiwan to teach English in 1990. Together with Bill, who joined them later, three ambitious and enthusiastic American young men established an English cram school at which they taught English the American way.
Taiwan has fostered and encouraged the learning of English for years. "There's no better way to know more about a foreign country than teaching your native language there", Paul said. That was why he, Eric, and Bill chose this job. They felt that in terms of making English a common language in Taiwan, there is still room for improvement.
Paul pointed out that comparing the crowded and fast-paced life in Taipei, Kaohsiung has a relaxing city atmosphere. In recent years, the Kaohsiung City Government has built more facilities, bringing more convenience to the people who live there. He was very satisfied with the current situation and made the decision to stay and work with Eric and Bill.
Paul noticed that there were now more parks in Kaohsiung, so that children could have more space to play safely. He looks forward to the completion of the Kaohsiung Rapid Transit, and hopes that its operation can begin as soon as possible. By then, the problem of insufficient space for parking will be solved if people use public transportation more.
Paul considers Kaohsiung a "food haven". His favorite dishes are Kaohsiung's Ginger Duck (duck stewed in rice wine and set aflame) and seafood. Very often, he has dry noodles and side dishes at the noodle shops in the neighborhood, hikes at Takao Hill, Hsitzuwan Bay, and drinks coffee at the riverbank of Love River.
Paul and his two friends, Eric and Bil, appreciate and support the project that the Kaohsiung City Government has promoted - "Marine Capital, Friendly City".
