The Elegant Kaohsiung Yacht Dock / 高雄遊艇碼頭優雅現身
From January 30 of this year, the Hamasen area of the Gushan district in Taiwan's maritime capitol of Kaohsiung, has had a prominently placed yacht dock! The dock is located next to Shaochuantou Park, directly across from the Gushan Fish Market. Kaohsiung's Marine Bureau hopes that it will encourage the development of Hamasen's yachting and recreational industry, moreover increasing the prosperity of the Gushan district, and improving the layout of the area.
The yacht dock measures in at a length of 185 meters. It has a total of 10 floating docks, each able to accommodate the anchoring of yachts up to 50 tons, or up to 60 feet in length, or other recreational craft. Floating docks allow for safe docking, free from problems caused by tidal changes. Boarding and disembarking vessels is easy, and electricity and running water are provided from shore. Visitors traveling by sea can acquire supplies of the highest quality here.
The light posts on shore are carved into the shape of fish, and impart the harbor city spirit of Gushan. Painted deep red, yellow, white, and blue, they not only serve as a signal to approaching ships as to the location of the dock, but the reflection of the light they cast as one walks along the boardwalk is distinctly romantic.
This yacht dock is one among a series of construction projects that the Kaosiung City Gushan District Government has been developing. Before the completion of the dock, Shaochuantou Park had already become the best spot for people to relax, and enjoy the boats and the view of the harbor. The Gushan Fish Market across from the dock allows for visitors to go sightseeing in a place that embodies the spirit of the harbor city. In the area where Gushan's fishing port and its first dock once were, brand new restaurants have opened, and parking is available. The surface of Binhai 2nd Road adds color to the area around the harbor, and all this combined results a lovely harbor-side view.
Not long from now, Hsitzuwan Beach, which is famous for its sunset views, will be connected to Shaochuantou Park via a boardwalk. The Maritime Bureau, along with the Maintenance Office of the Bureau of Public Works, will also take steps to beautify and improve the road leading to Gushan harbor, as well as its illumination. It is estimated that the project will be finished before the end of June, and that its completion will bring the tourist industry of the Hamasen area soaring to new heights, in addition to improving the overall landscape of the area.

海洋首都高雄從今年1月30日起，在鼓山區的哈瑪星擁有了首座遊艇碼頭！遊艇碼頭就位在哨船頭公園旁、鼓山漁市對面，是高雄市政府海洋局為了推動哈瑪星區域遊艇與海上遊樂產業開發、並且帶動鼓山地區繁榮而規劃設計的。
碼頭總長185公尺，共有10席光廊浮動碼頭，浮動碼頭可提供50噸以下或總長60英呎以下的遊艇或海上娛樂船舶停泊。浮動式的碼頭，讓船隻不用擔心潮差問題，上下船都便利，同時還提供岸電和自來水，航行的旅人可以在這裡獲得最佳補給。
而岸上的魚形柱造型燈，傳遞著鼓山的漁港風情，鮮紅色基樁與黃、白、藍色的柱頭燈，不僅是碼頭上的警示指引，緩緩步行在木質的碼頭步道上，燈光在水岸光影掩映中，更顯得浪漫醉人。
事實上，遊艇碼頭是高雄市政府鼓山地區一連串建設之一，在遊艇碼頭完成之前，旁邊的哨船頭公園已經
成為欣賞船隻與港口風景的最佳休憩點，而遊艇碼頭對面的鼓山漁市場也將結合漁市風情與觀光休閒，開闢全新的餐飲與停車服務，濱海二路的彩色路面則為港邊增添色彩，鼓山漁港與第一船渠週遭，已經形成一個美麗的港邊風景圈。
不久之後，高雄著名的看落日景點西子灣，也將開闢步道，與哨船頭公園連成一氣，而市府海洋局在今年將與市府工務局養護工程處攜手，針對鼓山漁港週邊的燈光照明與道路作整體的美化與改善，預計六月底以前就會完成，到時將帶動整體景觀與哈瑪星地區的海洋觀光產業起飛。
