Chairman Hsu's Expectation /許處長的期望
Within a few months' launching, Kaohsiung Municipal Film Archives becomes very popular. Hsu Jen-tu, the new chairman of Information Department, is an experienced film worker. As for the future plan of the film library, he suggests that besides enriching collection of professional information in the library, making it popular among the public is another important issue. All the efforts will contribute to the making of Kaohsiung Municipal Film Archives as a movie development center of southern Taiwan.
Movie is an industry of creation and imagination, Chairman Hsu says, it requires more professional devotion. Since its establishment, the film library is praised by many visitors.
In Taiwan, the domestic movie industry is in deep recession. To make the entire environment better, Kaohsiung Municipal Film Archives aims to encourage film making. Mayor Hsieh offers a funding of 10 million dollars, encouraging movie directors to make films setting in Kaohsiung. According to Chairman Hsu, Kaohsiung has confidence in playing an essential role in the history of movie.
高雄電影圖書館，自從開設以來，短短不到數月時間，可說是叫好又叫座。甫走馬上任的新聞處處長許仁圖，同時，也是資深電影人，在面對未來電影圖書館的經營與規劃，他主張除了深化電影圖書館的專業電影資訊，更要朝著普羅大眾電影文化去深耕，期使高雄電影圖書館成為南方電影的發展中心。
許處長強調，電影是創意影業文化，它需要更多的專業投入。自從成立以來，電影圖書館獲得參觀者的好評。
國內電影市場萎縮，就挽救整個電影大環境而言，高雄市電影圖書館也朝著營造電影製片氣候的方向努力，謝市長提出一千萬的獎勵拍攝獎金，鼓勵電影導演以高雄為電影場景
。許處長樂觀的表示，對於南方走出電影能量，高雄是有信心的。
