Enjoy a Flower Feast in Kaohsiung/賞花，來高雄！
If winter comes, can spring be far away? The city government has set to plant a dazzlingly array of colorful flowers across the city to welcome the advent of early spring. As a matter of fact, Kaohsiung is blessed with beautiful blossoms all year round. Department of Maintenance Engineering has compiled information for citizens to enjoy a flowering feast.
During springtime, in February and March, you can enjoy the sight of kapok around Hetong Road, Hsinhsing Elementary School, Hsiaokang Park No.1, Mintzu 1st Road, Minhua Road, Park No.30; during April and May, rose wood around Chungshan Road, Chungcheng Road, Cultural Center, Santo Road, Chunhsiao Road, and Sanmin Park.
In summertime, from May to August, golden blossoms of Indian laburnum can be seen around Hoping Road, Cultural Center, Linde Street, Sanming Park, Park No.30 and Mengtzu Road. For a fine view of flame tree blossoms, you can go to Shoushan Park, Hetong Road, Chunghua Road and Wannien County Park.
When fall sets in, from September to November, you can enjoy Kaelreuteria formosana around Minchun 2nd Road, Minsheng Road, Central Park, RainbowPark, Botanical Garden of Indigenous Species, and Park No.30.
From October going onward to March is the season of Hong Kong Orchid Tree, which is found around Kaihsuan 1st Road, Suwei Park, Yucheng Road and Chiouju Park.
賞花何須上陽明山？高雄市四季都有好花賞。「冬天到了，春天還會遠嗎？」市府已在全市廣植各色草花，準備迎接即將報到的早春。養工處特別整理「高雄風華 賞花情報」，提供民眾參考。
春天，二、三月可以觀賞木棉，河東路、林森一路新興國小旁、小港一號公園、民族一路、明華路、30號公園都是最佳觀賞地點；四、五月觀賞印度紫檀，觀賞地點包括中山一、二路、中正一、二、三路、中正文化中心、三多路，還有軍校路、三民公園。
進入夏天，可觀賞的花種就多了，五到八月開花的有金色花串的阿勃勒：和平路、中正文化中心、林德街最是觀賞的好景點，北高雄種植地區在三民公園、30號公園及孟子路。另外因正值離情依依的畢業季節，鳳凰花當紅，也是觀賞的對象，要欣賞滿山的鳳凰花就非壽山公園莫屬了，南高雄還有河東路是觀賞地點，北高雄則有中華一、二路、萬年縣公園。
進入秋冬的花季有那些呢？九至十一月可觀賞台灣特產樹種－台灣欒樹，夏末秋初開金黃色的花叢，花後結果，果實由粉紅轉紅褐色，樹冠顏色變化多端，最佳觀賞地點在民權二路、民生路、中央公園、彩虹公園，北高雄觀賞地點在原生植物園、30號公園。
每年十月到隔年三月則是觀賞豔紫荊的最好季節，豔紫荊是羊蹄甲與洋紫荊的雜交花種，花朵形狀呈深紫色，花味芳香，相當吸引過路人的目光，栽種的地區包括南高雄的凱旋一路、四維公園、以及北高雄的裕誠路及九如公園。
