A Port with hope for the future /未來的希望口岸

 Joachim Heineke from Germany has had twenty-year experience in hotel management. He was in Hong Kong for four years and then in Chengdu for one year. Coming to work in Asia suited him well. Thus he finally came to Kaohsiung.
 Joachim Heineke can use Chinese-style tableware without any difficulty and also very much enjoys eating Asian food. As a matter of fact, his first impression of Kaohsiung was of its many kinds of delicious and attractively presented food. For example, he thinks the chickens in the specialized shops near Grandma Ice Shop in Yancheng are far more delicious than Hainan chickens. Also, he has high praise for the various Aloha foods stewed in the sauces in Dagouding. He said that many people thought foreigners did not like tasting animals' inner organs; but Germans and Chinese are actually alike regarding chickens' livers, intestines, and hearts as favorite foods. So, Joachim Heineke can easily accept these dishes. Also, he likes eating fermented bean curd. He specially claims that foreigners can accept these special foods as long as they are well-flavored.
 Because of his job, Joachim Heineke stays in a hotel. He once went to Taitung to have a hot-spring bath and also visited Sun Moon Lake. Yet most of all he likes to sample good food, so the places that he is the most familiar with in Kaohsiung City are the restaurants and snacks vendors. He also went on a package tour arranged by the hotel to visit Blue Lagoon Water Park.
 Because Joachim Heineke had once stayed in Russia for five years, with its cold weather, he finds Taiwanese heat hard to bear. However, he said optimistically that, from his experience in Hong Kong, he knew the first summer was always very hard to get used to, but in the second summer he would adjust to the environment!
 Joachim Heineke is highly positive about Kaohsiung's future. He thinks Kaohsiung has all the chief conditions that good ports should have. Especially after the three great links are made, Kaohsiung should become an important port. This is the main reason why he chose the location for his hotel near Kaohsiung Port.

  自德國的韓喬慶,在飯店經營管理的領域已經有20年的經驗了。曾經在香港待過四年,在成都待過一年,因此來到高雄、回到亞洲工作,對他是一件相當容易適應的事。
  個性隨和的韓喬慶可以輕鬆地使用中式餐具,也很享受亞洲食物;事實上他對高雄的第一印象是有很多好吃的美食,像是鹽埕阿婆冰附近的雞肉專賣店,他認為比海南雞還好吃;還有大溝頂的阿囉哈滷味,更是被他盛讚不已。他說,許多人以為老外不吃動物內臟,但德國人和中國人一樣也將雞肝、腸、心當作食物,因此對他來說很容易接受,他甚至還喜歡吃臭豆腐,韓喬慶特別聲明,只要口味做得好吃,老外是很可以接受這些食物的。
  由於工作的關係,韓喬慶就住在飯店中,雖然去過台東泡溫泉,也造訪過日月潭等地,喜歡品嚐美食的他,對於高雄市區內最熟悉的地方還是餐廳或小吃攤。他也曾隨飯店規劃的套裝行程到布魯樂谷玩,雖然沒下水,不過仍然覺得相當有意思。
  雖然南台灣的炎熱天氣使得在俄國待了五年的他有點難以消受,不過他也樂觀地說,基於香港經驗,他曉得雖然第一個夏天會比較難以適應,但第二個夏天之後,他就會適應得很好了!
  韓喬慶很看好高雄的未來,他認為高雄擁有很好的海港條件,尤其在開放大三通之後,高雄港應會成為一個重要的口岸,這也是他們飯店之所以選在高雄港邊的主要原因。
