An 'Indonesian' daddy in Kaohsiung / 高雄最印的老爹
Zainal Abidin, Indonesia nationality, a father of four sweet boys, has been lived in Kaohsiung for 11 years with his Taiwanese wife, whom he met and fell in love with at the shops, her wife used to work, where near Pier No.3 at Kaohsiung Harbor 20 years ago, considering Taiwan as his root.
Six years ago, Zainal opened a small Indonesian Food shop in Yancheng District Kuchan area. The original idea was to provid a place for those nostalgist of Indonesian to meet. Therefore, the Indonesian boatmen from Kaohsiung Harbor and the Indonesian labors are the main customers at this shop. The Indonesian food in the shop is full of the variety of spice, such as Sa-dai lamp, lamp soup, chicken soup, salad and curry. In addition, there will be Indonesian ice cream available during the weekend.
Zainal's Indonesian food shop was moved to a busy place where near the train station half years ago. Still, Yancheng District remained to be a ideal place for living in his mind because there are more green parks, and the harbor reminded him very much of the harbor in Indonesia. Zainal likes to travel around by bus because of the conveniences. He likes to take the boys to Chichin, the banks of Love River, and the park where near by Museum of Fine Arts. In addition, Zainal is a devout Islam. He goes to mosque to pray with family regularly every week. Zainal is very well known among Indonesian people who work in Kaohsiung, and this Indonesian Daddy has characteristic of shy and honest, yet he is willing to help people.
來自印尼的Zainal Abidin，二十年前因跑船而結識當年在高雄港三號碼頭附近店家工作的太太，倆人愛情長跑譜出一段異國姻緣，如今擁有四個可愛的男孩，從1992年定居高雄迄今已十一年，早已將台灣當作自己的故鄉。
六年前，Zainal在鹽埕區堀江開起印尼小吃店，最初是為了讓思鄉的印尼人有個聚會的場所，而來自高雄港的印尼籍船員和鄰近縣市的印尼籍外勞就成了店裡的主顧客；店裡清一色賣的全是含有各式各樣香料的印尼小吃，有沙嗲羊肉、羊肉湯、雞肉湯、沙拉和咖哩，週末則加賣印尼口味的冰淇淋。
Zainal的印尼小吃店半年前搬到火車站附近人潮較多的地方繼續營業，但是Zainal仍然覺得鹽埕區是個理想的居住環境，因為那裡除了公園綠地多，更有股最接近家鄉港口的味道。Zainal平時最常以公車為代步工具，他覺得高雄市的公車很方便，他喜歡帶小孩去旗津玩，也喜歡到愛河邊及美術館附近的公園散步。此外，Zainal是一位虔誠的回教徒，每週定期與家人到清真寺做禮拜，在高雄地區工作的印尼人，很少不認識這位看似靦腆但個性卻熱心助人的印尼老爹。
