Fongshan District-HSR Express Bus Line E11 Began Normal Operations on 8/1; Electronic Card Users Ride Free for the Month

[Kaohsiung] The Kaohsiung City Transportation Bureau began normal operations of the Fongshan District - High Speed Rail (HSR) Express Bus Line E11 on August 1st to provide more convenient public transport between Fongshan District and the HSR Zuoying Station. Operated by the Kaohsiung Bus Group, the E11 line will span 37.4km and will run 12 times a day. Rides for the first segment of the line on normal roads will cost NT$12 (NT$6 for students and military & police personnel). Rides on the second segment of the line that goes on the national highway cost NT$18 (NT$9 for students and military & police personnel). Altogether, a full ride totals NT$30. Fongshan District residents are welcome to use this quick way to get to the HSR Zuoying Station.  The Fongshan-HSR Express Bus Line will start at Chengyi Road in the Chengyi Community of the Fongshan District and then proceed to the following stops: R.O.C. Military Academy - Fongshan Transfer Station - Guangyuan Rd. - National Fongshan Senior High School - Kaohsiung City Government Fongshan Administration Center - Kaohsiung Armed Forces General Hospital - Kaohsiung Municipal Jhong Jheng Senior High School - Get on the National Freeway, switch to National Freeway No. 10, and get off at the Dajhong Road Interchange - Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital - Kaohsiung Hsin Chuang High School - Dajhong Rd. Intersection - Mengzih Rd. - Garden Villa - HSR Zuoying Station.  Chen Ching-Fu, Director-General of the Transportation Bureau, stated that the Fongshan-HSR Express Bus Line uses completely new, universally accessible buses. During the first month of the line’s operation (August 2016), all electronic stored value card users can ride for free. In addition, 4G wireless internet and USB charging stations are provided inside the bus.  The Transportation Bureau also stated that the bus line goes to the campuses of the Chung Cheng Armed Forces Preparatory School, R.O.C. Military Academy, Army Infantry School, and other military schools. As such, the Fongshan-HSR Express Bus Line will cooperate with those campuses and bases to meet peak transportation demands during special leave. Extra buses will be dispatched based on specially-reserved time periods to effectively meet the transportation needs of army cadets.
