2005 Kaohsiung International Container Arts Festival

Another event, "Kaohsiung International Container Arts Festival", is scheduled to be held in Kaohsiung City at the end of this year. The climax of "Container Arts Festival" lies on the cargo containers which best show the features of Kaohsiung Port. This festival therefore is an art festival that best represents Kaohsiung City.
"2005 Kaohsiung International Container Arts Festival" is scheduled to begin on December 17th, 2005 until January 15th, 2006, with the theme of "G Box: Children's Cargo Container". In addition to local artists, many artists from the US, Austria, German, Hong Kong and other countries and areas will also participate and put together 12 great pieces of art works.
"G Box: Childhood Container" features art works inspired by Game Box, aiming to awaken everyone's child spirit. By appreicating container-turned-art, visitors will once again recall their child stories and ambitions. For example, one of the artists, Yi-Jian Chen, piled up different colors of cargo containers from various companies abroad and turned them into children's building blocks. The port area suddenly becomes a playground.
Plus, during the exhibition period of "Container Arts Festival", there will be famous performance shows in every Saturday and Sunday. We will see Jazz band from the Philippines, dancing group from Ukraine, and hot balloons. Kaohsiung will be filled with happy atmosphere. Kaohsiung residents will embrace the coming of 2006 with laughers and joy of art.

另一項在年底登場的「高雄國際貨櫃藝術節」則是在高雄市舉行。今年再度舉辦的「貨櫃藝術節」，主要是以最能突顯高雄港特色的貨櫃，做為裝置藝術的主角，也成為最能代表高雄市的藝術節慶。 2005高雄國際貨櫃藝術節是以「GBox：童遊貨櫃」為主題，於2005年12月17日起至2006年1月15日，在高雄市立美術館東側的綠地熱鬧舉行，除本國藝術創作外，有來自數個國家包含美國、奧地利、德國、香港...等國的藝術家為「貨櫃視覺藝術展」現地創作出12組精彩作品。 所謂的「GBox：童遊貨櫃」就是以G（Game）Box作為藝術家創作取向，希冀藉著本展讓每一個人心中的「童魂」復甦，藉由遊歷以貨櫃為載體的藝術作品，再次重溫童年的經驗與想望。例如台灣的創作者陳逸堅就將高雄港區內來自各國不同廠商而且顏色互異堆疊起來的貨櫃，轉變為孩童手中的積木，讓港區成了一座遊戲世界的基地。 「貨櫃藝術節」展覽期間，每逢週六、日，更有國內外知名表演團體演出，包括菲律賓的爵士流行樂團、烏克蘭跳舞劇場、熱氣球等，讓高雄市充滿歡樂，也使高雄市民的2005年，在歡笑與藝術中愉快地迎接2006年的到來。 |
