Forum for creativity in Art Maintain _ Body — Kaohsiung: Site-specific x Body Tracks Project
2016-11-01

Exhibition Dates: October 8, 2016 to January 1, 2017 Exhibition Venue: Galleries 401-402, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts With regard to cities, everyone has his or her own perspective and vision. Only when the body escapes the realm of everyday experience are these kinds of perspective and vision highlighted, pondered, and even subverted.  The curator Lo Wen-chun(Wendy), who is the producer of the Scarecrow Contemporary Dance Company, based on many years of planning and production experience for the dance company to perform at various kinds of special spaces, has extended human perception of space to a vision of the city, and suggested a vision of urban functioning in imitation of the human body's life support system. Lo has used these concepts to create this interdisciplinary exhibition project. The four artists and performers — Chien Hao-chiang, Luo Wen-jinn, Chao Hung Hui and Wang Lien-cheng — working separately in the fields of visual art, dance, costume and new media, rely on physical perceptions as their antennae, take a maintenance network as their visions, employ the city of Kaohsiung as their settings, and use creative art displays/performances as a means of expressions. These individuals seek to explore the relationships between people and urban spaces, and they employ recordings, transformations and interpretations of multimedia to present in this exhibition the life tracks derived from the interaction of people's lives and the city's pulse.
